Mulch for Playground

If you can, please join us on Saturday morning, March 31st, to help top off the mulch at the Wyatt Farm playground. We should have the support of some of the Big Event students from Virginia Tech. Wheelbarrows and pitch forks are needed as well — please drop those off for us to use even if you can’t be there on Saturday!

Easter Egg Hunt

The annual Woodbine / Wyatt Farm Easter Egg Hunt will be held Saturday, March 31st at 3:00 pm. This year it will be held at the Woodbine Playground. Don’t forget to bring your basket! Rain date: Sunday, April 1st at 3:00 pm.

2011 Annual Meeting

The Wyatt Farm Annual Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th at 7:00 pm at BCF (our neighbors to the north). All homeowners are encouraged to attend. We will discuss the year’s activities and the plans for next year, including the budget. There is no increase in dues planned for 2012. Come and help us set the priorities for another great year in our beautiful neighborhood. We hope to see you there!

Leaf Collection

Leaf collection in the Wyatt Farm area will occur the week of October 31, the week of November 14, and the week of November 28. Both loose and bagged leaves will be collected. More details can be found here: http://www.blacksburg.gov/Index.aspx?page=843.

If you’re new to the neighborhood, please touch base with us by email (best) or phone so that we can (1) get you on our mailing list for important announcements, and (2) get your information into the Wyatt Farm Directory.

The email list is used sparingly — maybe once or twice a month, and we will never share your email address with anyone. The neighborhood directory contains only information that you agree to include and is distributed confidentially only to homeowners in Wyatt Farm.

Picnic rescheduled to Sept 30th

Due to some conflicts that affect many members of the Wyatt Farm community, the annual picnic has been rescheduled for Friday, September 30th. Join us at the pavilion for grilled burgers and hot dogs, as well as other dishes provided by you and your neighbors. The bouncy castle will make its annual appearance, and there may be some additional surprises as well. We’ll get started by 5:00 pm, but come and go as you like. More info later.

Wyatt Farm Picnic on Sept 16

UPDATE: Due to conflicts, the date of the picnic has been changed to Friday, September 30th.

Save the date! The annual Wyatt Farm Community Picnic will be held on Friday, September 16th at the pavilion. Great grilled food and lots of friendly faces! As usual, you bring a side dish or dessert to share and we’ll provide everything else. The castle moon bounce will be back and there may be some new surprises! Additional reminders will be posted and sent out closer to the event. We look forward to seeing you!

Yard Sale on May 21

The residents of the Wyatt Farm neighborhood are invited to participate in a yard sale in conjunction with Woodbine and Mt. Tabor Meadows. The sale is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, with a rain date of May 28.

The annual Wyatt Farm / Woodbine Easter Egg Hunt will be held this Saturday, April 16th at 1:00 pm at the Wyatt Farm playground. Remember to bring a basket! Rain date: April 17th at 1:00 pm.

Control Burn on Bishop Road on April 7

There is a plan for a control burn of the meadow at 600 Bishop Road on Thursday, April 7 around 4:00 pm. The burn will be supervised by a professional who will have enough assistance to keep the fire under control. A fire truck from the Blacksburg Fire Department will also be present. A control burn helps to eliminate invasive plans and will help to encourage natives already present and any planted in the future. If the burn is not possible on Thursday because of wind, be aware that whenever you see a fire on Bishop Road in the next week or so there is no cause for concern.
