Skunk traps were set this morning at seven locations around the neighborhood, mostly in green space areas. They will be in place for the next two weeks. The traps are small metal cages that are spring-loaded so that when the skunk enters the trap, the cage door closes, locking them inside. Each morning (skunks are active at night) we will check the traps and call the owners to remove the animal and reset the trap.
Please do not approach or disturb these traps. Generally, a skunk will not spray once in the trap, but it might.
